China semiconductor has made three breakthroughs! 169.6 billion projects started to be built and "localization" accelerated

1、The second phase of Changjiang storage's 169.6 billion semiconductor project is under construction, which is expected to rank among the top 3 in the world
On June 20, the second phase of the national storage base project (Civil Engineering) implemented by Changjiang storage started in Wuhan Donghu high tech Zone, according to the securities times. It is understood that the Yangtze River storage national memory base project is jointly invested and constructed by Ziguang group, national integrated circuit fund, Hubei science and technology investment group and Hubei integrated circuit fund. It is planned to build a 3D NAND flash chip factory in two phases, with an overall investment of US $24 billion (about RMB 169.6 billion).
The project started at the end of 2016 with a production capacity of 100000 tons per month, and the project is progressing smoothly. During this period, Changjiang storage first developed the first 3D nandn flash in China at the end of 2017. At that time, it only realized 32 layer stack. In September 2019, Changjiang storage announced mass production of 64 layer 256 GB TLC 3D NAND flash based on xtacking architecture, which is also the first 64 layer 3D NAND flash in China.
On April 13 this year, Changjiang storage announced that its 128 layer QLC 3D flash memory (x2-6070) has been successfully developed and has passed the verification on SSD and other terminal products of several main control manufacturers. At present, the 32 layer and 64 layer storage chip products of Changjiang storage have achieved stable mass production. After the completion of the second phase project, the production capacity will reach 300000 Wafers / month, which is three times of the previous 100000 wafers. This is also the ultimate goal of the whole national memory base.
The greatest significance of capacity improvement is to help domestic memory chips occupy a certain share in the global flash memory market. It is understood that by the end of 2019, the monthly capacity of global flash memory will be about 1.3 million wafers. When the second phase project of national memory base is completed, Changjiang storage will probably occupy 20% of the global capacity, which is enough to rank among the top 3 flash memory suppliers in the world.
2、China's semiconductor industry has made three breakthroughs with the help of Changjiang storage
It is worth mentioning that memory is the basic core chip of information system, which can best represent the scale economic benefits and advanced manufacturing technology of integrated circuit industry. It is also the largest import amount of integrated circuit products in China. Nowadays, China's semiconductor industry takes the lead in making breakthroughs in memory, which is a great benefit to the development of domestic semiconductor industry.
We should know that in recent years, the prices of memory, solid-state hard disk and graphics card have been rising again and again. The reason is that memory chips are in the hands of a few foreign manufacturers. Localization will greatly reduce the cost of domestic semiconductor products. According to the data, in 2018, the global semiconductor market reached US $468.8 billion, of which the Chinese market was US $158.454 billion (about RMB 1120 billion), accounting for 33.8% of the world's total. Semiconductor companies in the United States, Japan, South Korea and other countries are looking forward to making money from the Chinese market.
It can be seen that the domestic semiconductor industry is in a virtuous circle with the support of the state and the independent development of enterprises. During this period, in addition to the breakthrough of Yangtze storage 3dnand in 128 layers, SMIC international achieved mass production of 14nm, and the etching equipment of China micro Corporation covered 65-5nm chip manufacturing process, which were three major breakthroughs in China's semiconductor industry in recent years.
In the future, with China's continued investment in the semiconductor industry and the continuous efforts of Chinese semiconductor enterprises in R & D, the pace of domestic substitution of semiconductor companies such as chip manufacturing, equipment and materials will be further accelerated to break through foreign semiconductor technology control.
